FOLEY Rose-Anna

Biography

Rose-Anna Foley (PhD) is an anthropologist. She is in charge of the Qualitative Research Platform, a joint center of Unisanté and HESAV, which aims at counselling, supporting and teaching biomedical scientists and students willing to conduct qualitative research. 

Associate Professor at HESAV, she is the PI of an FNS research project that looks at polymedication in ageing people and that is conducted in collaboration with the clinical pharmacological unit of Lausanne Universitary Hospital (CHUV) and the Health Economics Research Group at Unisanté in Lausanne (ECOSAN) (2018-2022). 

Her past researches focused mainly on how people consider and experience oncological and palliative drugs. 

In her work, she engages in pluridisciplinary collaborations with biomedical researchers stemming from diverse disciplines or domains (such as physiotherapists, pharmacists, and doctors). 

She is currently working with a team of physiotherapists and anthropologists on the trajectories of people injured at work, in collaboration with a rehabilitation center. 

She is a board member of AMADES (Association of Medical Anthropology Applied to Development and Medicine), an international francophone scientific association, and member of the editorial board of the international francophone peer reviewed journal Anthropologie & Santé.
