Margot GUTH

Biography

I am a social epidemiologist and Research Fellow in the Health & Gender Unit at Unisanté, with a background as a healthcare professional. Since joining Unisanté in 2024, my research has focused on the social and structural determinants of health, with a particular emphasis on gender and intersectional approaches.

Using quantitative methods, I am particularly interested in understanding how these factors shape the development of chronic diseases, including cancer, and contribute to health inequalities across population groups. My methodological interests focus on how gender and intersectionality can be operationalized and accounted for in epidemiological research. More broadly, my work aims to contribute to public health research and public policy from a health equity perspective.

My previous research in environmental epidemiology focused on cancer and reproductive health, including the role of occupational exposures in cancer development and the effects of endocrine-disrupting chemicals on sex hormones and pubertal development.

Alongside my research activities, I am involved in teaching epidemiology, gender and medicine, gender bias in health, and intersectional approaches to quantitative health research.
