SELBY Kevin

Biography

Dr. Kevin Selby, originally from Canada, trained at Harvard Medical School and completed his internal medicine residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. He moved to Switzerland in 2012, training in general internal medicine at Unisanté in Lausanne, where he became an attending physician in 2015. From 2016 to 2018, he pursued postdoctoral training in clinical epidemiology at UCSF and the Kaiser Permanente Division of Research, using large patient databases to improve colorectal cancer screening. He has since split his time at Unisanté between clinical practice and research.

Dr. Selby's research focuses on implementing personalized cancer screening and coproduction. He aims to make organized screening programs smarter and more equitable by tailoring them to individual risk, reducing unnecessary harm for low-risk patients while improving uptake among high-risk patients. He is leading the multicenter randomized trial PRESENT-CRC and exploring the implementation of lung cancer screening in Switzerland. He also leads projects about how involving patient partners in research, teaching and governance could make our health system more patient-centered.
